A shrewd study in group pathology, this satirical thriller contrasts the third-world slums of modern Mexico with the heavily fortified, gated communities for the wealthy overclass and their families. One such community is horrified when a wealthy woman is brutally beaten, robbed and murdered by a trio of criminals who have somehow breached the perimeter. It looks like an inside job, so the upper-crust residents decide to settle their own business their own way. A nihilistic but thoughtful portrait of a country divided.
Yn astudiaeth graff mewn patholeg grŵp, mae’r ffilm gyffro ddychanol hon yn cyferbynu slymiau trydydd byd Mecsio fodern â’r cymunedau caerog diogel i’r dosbarth uwch ariannog a’u teuluoedd. Mae un o’r cymunedau hyn yn cael ei harswydo ar ôl i wraig ariannog cael ei churo’n greulon, ei lladrata a’i llofruddio gan driawd o droseddwyr sydd rhyw ffordd wedi torri trwy’r perimedr. Mae’n ymddangos mai rhywun o’r tu fewn oedd yn gyfrifol, felly mae’r trigolion uchelradd yn penderfynu delio â’r mater yn ei ffordd eu hunain. Portread nihilaidd ond meddylgar o wlad ranedig.
